Dolet for Finale

Dolet for Finale is a Finale plug-in that reads and writes MusicXML files. Version 1.5 supports Finale 2000 to 2005 on Windows. Version 2.0 supports Finale 2004 to 2005 on Macintosh OS X. Use Dolet to:

  • Import music scanned with SharpEye Music Reader into Finale
  • Read files created from Sibelius, PhotoScore Professional, Virtual Composer, and other programs.
  • Write files that can be used by MuseBook Score, capella playAlong, SCORE, and other programs.
  • Exchange music created in later versions of Finale with users of earlier versions of Finale (back to Finale 2000 on Windows or Finale 2004 on OS X).

This translator is a plug-in for the Finale notation program. To use it, you must have a supported version of Finale installed on your system. Macintosh OS 9 is not supported.

If you already have Windows Installer on your machine, you can use the .msi file to install the converter. This will be the case if you are running Windows ME, 2000, or XP, or another program that uses Windows Installer (such as recent versions of Microsoft Office). Otherwise, you will need to use the .exe file to install the plug-in.

Dolet for Sibelius 1.2

Dolet for Sibelius is a plug-in for Sibelius 2.1 and 3.1 on Windows or Macintosh. Dolet saves Sibelius files in MusicXML format. Use Dolet to:

  • Share music you have created in Sibelius with people who use Finale, Igor Engraver, and other programs that support MusicXML.
  • Read Sibelius 2.1 and 3.1 files into Sibelius 1.4 (requires Finale 2000/2001 and Dolet for Finale).

The translator is a plug-in for the Sibelius notation program. To use it, you must have Sibelius 2.1 or 3.1 installed on your system.

SharpEye Music Reader 2

SharpEye Music Reader from Visiv is widely regarded as the most accurate music scanning software available today. SharpEye 2 saves your scans of sheet music as MusicXML files so you can import them into Finale, Igor Engraver, or any other product that reads MusicXML.

Version 2.5 is now available. It recognizes staff braces, more dynamic marks, articulations, ornaments, tuplets, and font styles. There are also many improvements in accuracy, in editing, and in batch processing.
