Born: August 4, 1910, New York, New York, USA
Died: February 15, 1992, New York, New York, USA

Finally! William Schuman's most famous work, the New England Triptych, based on music of William Billings, is available complete in its version for band - and now in two different performances! The Triptych includes Chester, which is longer and more developed in its band version than its orchestral guise, giving the two versions a very different weight and feel. With this addition, and the recent recording of American Hymn, most of Schuman's classic works for band are now available on CD. Corporon's recording includes two of the "greatest hits." George Washington Bridge has even found its way into orchestral concerts.
