Alfred Reed's symphonies and other works for band have made an enormous contribution to the repertoire. And finally, many of his major works are available on commercial CD in the USA! The pieces range from his early Russian Christmas Music to his newer symphonies. The Bio-Bibliography has the best written information about Reed's life and music. While the biography takes up less space than the bibliography, it makes for very interesting reading, especially when relating stories such as the origin of works such as Russian Christmas Music and Armenian Dances.
