Daniel PinkhamOverview - Recordings - Scores - Books - Links Pinkham's Serenades is an unusual solo work, being less flashy than the norm. There is still a lot for the solo trumpet to do, but the emphasis is on flexibility and grace rather than athleticism. Murphy and Sedares do well in this initial recording, though the second movement seems under-inflected. This leads off an all-Pinkham disc, including the Third and Fourth Symphonies as well as the Sonata No. 3 for Organ and Strings. Recordings
