Paul Creston's rhythmic overtures and short pieces have long pleased band members and concert-goers. Yet only one piece seems available on CD: his Celebration Overture, Op. 61, in a fine performance by Jack Stamp and the Keystone Wind Ensemble. Fortunately, the scores to his works are a bit more available than the recordings, and a biography is available.
